Product Description Silent 20 Wine Refrigerator?Protects 20 Bottles of Wine Without a Sound. The FWC20T Franklin Chef Silent 20 Bottle Built-In Wine Refrigerator utilizes third generation Peltier technology, which cools without compressors, coolants, cycling or fan noise, and without vibration. This remarkable thermoelectric system will cool to 24F below ambient, which means you can set it at 55F for storage OR you can set it as low as 46F to chill white and sparkling wine. Not only that, but this remarkable little unit can be built in with zero-clearance. No venting is necessary. A black finish and a stylishly curved, double-pane glass door make this modern marvel look as good as it sounds. Silent Thermoelectric Cooling Slide out chrome shelves Stores Up to 20 Bottles* Adjustable thermostat for ideal temperature control *Capacity is based off using standard 750 mL size bottles, using larger Pinot Noir/Rhone size bottles may limit the capacity.

Dead on arrival September 26, 2008 PM The description says that the fact that the fan is the only moving part means that this refrigerator is very reliable. That wasn't my experience. I plugged it in, left it on its coolest setting overnight, and made the mistake of putting a couple of bottles of wine in it. Not only did it not cool the wine, it left it warm to the touch. I tried the opposite extreme setting in case I was reading the controls incorrectly and got the same result. Then the reseller didn't respond to my email asking about an exchange and I had to file a claim through amazon for a refund. I ended up getting a message almost three weeks later saying that the reseller was having a hard time getting a return authorization from the manufacturer. Based on that, I decided not to exchange it and try another one.

I've had this a month and I'm very happy so far. The lack of vibration makes me comfortable using it for long-term storage (the compressor vibration from traditional refrigerators may have a negative impact on wines over time). It's a really nice value. One warning -- when I first started stocking it, it would cool down lower than it should have, to below 50 degrees, even when it was on its lowest setting. Now that it's full of bottles though, it seems to be holding steady in the mid-50's, which is where I want it.
