Thermo-electric cooling is not only good for your valuable wine collection but also for the environment. Using absolutely no ozone depleating chemicals such as CFC's or HCFC's you will be sure that you are doing your part to preserve the environment. The unit uses dual paned glass windows, a technology that has been proven in the construction industry. They have better insulation properties, better UV protection, and are easier to clean. This energy efficiency will lead to less electricity usage and savings in energy bills throughout the years. Featuring a black cabinet with stainless steel door trim and handle and sturdy wire shelf racking for individual bottle storage, 2 pull-out chrome shelves, digital temperature display and push button controls. Temperature Range: 46-66F (+/- 2F). Please note: It is a normal function of the unit for the temperature to fluctuate. The unit is designed to cycle -- and this fluctuation of 5 degrees prevents the unit from excessive cycling. Assembly level/degree of difficulty: Easy. Also agree that the factory packaging is sub-par. My unit arrived with the cabinet very slightly skewed ( you have to look pretty hard to notice it), and needed to use the leveling feet to sit it straight. Nevertheless, a fine little unit which looks great on the countertop, holds the set-point temperature perfectly, and makes absolutely no noise whatsoever.

Wine cooler has nice appearance and seems to hold prescribed temperature well,but lower portion of packaging almost completely separated from unit in transit.
