Doesn't last more than a year!! August 12, 2008 R. Delalla I received this for a wedding gift and it lasted 8 months before it just quit working. It was nice while it lasted. Good thing I was able to take it back for a store credit. When i took it back to the store 2 people i had talked to there had similar stories with their Cuisinart wine cellar.
Cuisinart should stick to food processors and blenders.
Pefect for Red wine July 1, 2008 C (California) I only drink red wine, therefore, I don't need this to get any cooler than 60. I can see where it would be a let down for those trying to get their whites cooler, but not a problem for me. And enough about how "noisy" this thing is...please. I'm not sure if I have a newer model, but I can barely hear it. If you're like me and are just looking for something to keep your reds at prime temp, buy it.
Second one in less than two years...dead... June 14, 2008 Craig A. Brumley (Lilburn, GA United States) The first one died in six months, second one lasted a little longer. Looks nice; and it's compact. It's definately noisy, and the quality is obviously not good.
Between this, and our Cuisinart coffee maker that deposited a pot of coffee on the counter top and floor a couple times a month, I don't think I'll be buying any more of their cr@p.
Do more research than I did May 31, 2008 M. Shaffer Like many others here, I don't recommend this item. It does run constantly and never gets below 55.6 degrees in a 74 degree room. I guess that is in line with the owners manual "INSIDE" the box. They sure don't advertise that fact anywhere externally. I bought this for my wife because she loves white wine but it simply doesn't fit the bill.
It's not as loud as others here suggest, but it isn't hush quiet either.
All in all I'm very disappointed in this product and certainly do NOT recommend it to anyone.
Can't complain May 24, 2008 Susan Brown (Oklahoma City, OK) I bought this unit at Sam's about a year ago. I am surprised by the reviews. I have had this for about a year with no problems. I haven't noticed it being noisy, but this is the first wine cooler I've bought so I have nothing to compare to. If there is a power outage - it does default back the the 45 degree setting (white wine), but since it has a digital read-out on the front, it hasn't been a problem for me press the button to reset it back to the red wine preset. It keeps my wine cool and we can easily grab a bottle and open it at night for dinner. I'm happy with it.
